The time has finally arrived. It’s the end of a cinematic era – it all started with Iron Man back in 2008, and it all ends here! The Avengers: Endgame has officially opened, and 21 movies worth of content is about to be wrapped up in this 3 hour epic.
I finally saw the movie last night, and it was an emotional roller coaster! I’ve been a huge Marvel fan ever since the movies came out (that should be obvious by how many ornaments I have of the Avengers on my Christmas tree). I’ve had a great time watching the Marvel Cinematic Universe unfold in front of us. This film was the absolute best cherry on top I could have asked for (ok, maybe I’d have changed a FEW things. Just a few!)
If you’ve been debating whether or not it’s worth all the hype, or if you should bring your kids to it – just keep reading! Without any spoilers, I’ll answer your burning questions before you head to the theater.
Because Avengers – ASSEMBLE!

Is it appropriate for younger kids?
It really depends on your parenting style and if you’re comfortable bringing your young kids to superhero movies. If your kids have seen other Avengers/Marvel movies, then yes, this movie will be just fine. The worst thing about the PG-13 rating is language, honestly. There are only a handful of violent scenes, but nothing we haven’t seen in previous Marvel movies. Additionally, there aren’t any “scary” moments with jump scares or extremely scary moments.
Personally, if I had kids who were elementary school age, I would allow them to see it. Have a chat with your kids about the language beforehand if you’re concerned about it. Alternatively, simply wait until they’re older and it’s on DVD to show them. In the end, it’s YOUR choice! An adults only date night idea maybe?!
How hard is it to last the 3 hour run time?
Honestly, not bad at all! I think people are making a bigger deal out of the 3 hour thing than they need to. Maybe it’s just me because I grew up in the Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings era, but 3 hours was nothing. I didn’t once have to run to the bathroom, and my parents, who were more concerned about the time, didn’t leave once either!
If you HAVE to go to the bathroom, there is ONE scene where you’ll be safe. Without giving away any spoilers, there is a scene where Tony and Pepper are sitting on a couch talking. It’s about an hour in, and a slower moving scene. The PERFECT time for a quick bathroom break if you absolutely have to go. Other than that, once the movie gets rolling, it’ll REALLY get going, so be sure you plan your pre-movie drinks accordingly!
Is there a post credit scene?
Like many people have said, there is NOT post credit scene at the end. There is an “easter egg” sound clip, but it doesn’t hint at any future movies or anything like the previous post credit scenes have. I would recommend at least sticking around for the beginnings of the credits though, for a very nice tribute to the original Avengers cast!
So…how was it?!
EMOTIONAL. ROLLER. COASTER.
That’s how it was.
It was a GREAT film and a very well thought out movie. I had a couple of problems with some of the loose ends that didn’t seem to get answered, but nothing about that completely soured my impression of the film. Small plot holes aside, the entire thing was masterfully done, and hits you right in the feels from literal start to finish. I found myself crying a few times, but I knew that was going happen! When the Russo Brothers snapped T’Challa and Peter Parker in the last one, I knew they were NOT playing around and were going to do whatever they needed to do to our beloved characters to tell a good story.
I’m still processing my feelings about the movie, because it’s weird knowing that this phase of the MCU is DONE (well, not technically I suppose – we still have Spider-Man to look forward to!) What am I going to do now that the Infinity Saga is over? I’m honestly not a huge fan of the comic books, and I never have been. I am SURE there are TONS of other stories out there to be told. It’s just weird knowing that after a literal decade of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Co. as the main cast – it’ll be different from here on out.
My Final Rating
I’d give the film as a whole a 9/10, because like I said above, there were just a FEW plot holes that bothered me. Everyone in the cast brought the entire film to life and put EVERYTHING they could in to their characters, and once the movie gets about 1 hour and 30 minutes in, it TAKES OFF like the blast off from Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. This last film in the MCU is unlike any other cinematic event you’ve been a part of, and for that reason ALONE I recommend you see it.
